1、trend和tendency均含“趨勢，傾向”之意。

2、trend指：事物發(fā)展總的方向、傾向或趨勢，它指的是整個社會或者比較大群體的一種趨勢或者潮流，例如：The current trend is towards informal clothing. 目前的趨勢是穿著比較隨便。

3、tendency指：固有或習得的傾向性，強調(diào)沒有外來的影響或干擾，一般指的是人有某種傾向性或者某種趨勢，例如：He had a tendency to shrink up whenever attention was focused on him. 當別人注意他時，他就會退縮一旁。
