　　TheUniversitatAutònomadeBarcelona(UAB)isknownforitsexcellenceinresearchandqualityinteaching,andisareferencecentreinEurope.TheUABislocatedonly25minutesviapublictransportationfromBarcelona’scitycentre,acosmopolitanmetropolislyingontheshoresoftheMediterraneanSea.ThemaincampusislocatedinBellaterra,intheheartofoneofthemainindustrialandtechnologicalpolesofMediterraneanEurope.

　　TheUABcaterstoallaspectsofuniversitylife.Thecampusisatruecityofknowledgewithalmost50,000inhabitants:students,lecturers,researchersandadministrativestaff.Itisorganisedwithallthenecessaryservicesfortheuniversitycommunity:residencehalls(2,600places),specialisedlibraries,alanguagelearningcentre,sportfacilities(withagym,pools,footballpitch,etc.),healthcarecentre,restaurants,storesandcafés.

　　TheUABpromotesinnovation,employabilityandentrepreneurship.Itstrivestofosterresearchandtransferinallareasofknowledgeandworkscloselytogetherwiththesurroundingbusinessandindustrialcommunity,aswellaswithscientificcentressuchastheAlbaSynchrotronLightFacility,locatedfiveminutesawayfromcampus.

　　TheUABcampusincludes226researchgroups,57departmentsand45researchinstitutesandcentres,manyofwhichwerecreatedincollaborationwithimportantscientificinstitutions,andallofwhichconductalargeamountofresearchactivities(3,240articlespublishedinindexedjournalsaccordingtoThomsonReutersWOK,2014).ResearchactivitiesarealsocarriedoutinthefiveUAB-affiliatedhospitals,threeofwhichhavebeenawardedtheCarlosIIIHealthInstitute’ssealofexcellence.

　　Theuniversityactivelyencouragestheinvolvementandparticipationofitsstudentsinvolunteeringactivitiesandcommunityservice,andha***eenrecognisedbyseveralinstitutesforthesetasks.Italsocarriesoutawareness-raisingcampaignsamongtheuniversitycommunity.

　　TheUABfacilitatesparticipationinmobilityprogrammesandworkstoattractstudentsfromabroad(3,546internationalmobilitystudents).ItsmostimportantprojectsareErasmusMundus,Comenius,LeonardoDaVinciandErasmusK2.ItalsohasspecificprogrammeswhichwelcomeandaidinternationalstudentsoncetheyarriveattheUAB.UndertheErasmusprogrammealone,theUABhas1,308bilateralagreementswithmorethan500universitiesinEurope.

　　78PhDprogrammes,providingadvancedtraininginresearchtechniques,culminatinginadoctoralthesis(618PhDthesesin2013-2014).Theyinvolvepreparinganddefendingathesisandusuallylastthreeyears,withtheaimofproducingtop-levelacademicandprofessionals.Atotalof27oftheUAB’sPhDprogrammeshavereceivedanExcellenceAward.

　　TheinternationaldimensionoftheUABcanbeseenbythenumberofstudentsenrolledfromabroad,especiallyinmaster'sdegreeswith2,281internationalstudents(40%),andPhDprogrammeswith1,464internationalstudents(36%).Thereareover45master'sdegreestaught100%inEnglish.

　　2、研究生

　　在研究生階段，巴塞羅那自治大學(xué)有頂級的研究生課程，內(nèi)容幾乎涵蓋所有知識(shí)領(lǐng)域。
