北京故宮是中國明清兩代的皇家宮殿，舊稱紫禁城，位于北京中軸線的中心，是中國古代宮廷建筑之精華。

The the Imperial Palace of Beijing is the imperial palace of the two dynasties in Ming and Qing Dynasties, formerly known as the Forbidden City, located in the center of Beijing's central axis. It is the cream of ancient Chinese palace architecture. 北京故宮以三大殿為中心，占地面積72萬平方米，建筑面積約15萬平方米，有大小宮殿七十多座，房屋九千余間。是世界上現存規(guī)模最大、保存最為完整的木質結構古建筑之一。
